Periodic tenancy agreement template
A periodic tenancy runs from rent period to rent period with no end date. Under the Renters' Rights Act 2025 this is now the only form a new assured tenancy in England can take — monthly, open-ended, continuing until the tenant gives notice or the landlord obtains possession under a Section 8 ground.

Because the mechanics changed, agreements drafted for the old rolling arrangement — with references to "the expired fixed term" or Section 21 — no longer describe the tenancy correctly.
What to include
